If you are asked to write an article for a website or newspaper, the first thing you should consider is the target audience. For example, you may be asked to write for a broadsheet newspaper or a school website. The audience for these are very different and will dictate the tone that you will use.
Always try to include features of the genre, so you can include a headline, the author’s name and the date, if it is a website article. If it is a newspaper, include a headline and the author.
You can use facts and statistics to back up your points in the article. These do not have to be real but they just seem realistic. You can also reference experts in a specific field to reinforce your points.
Use the information from the question when deciding on your content and make sure that you address all aspects of the question, even if it is only a line. You will lose marks if you miss some of the instructions.
